“We wanted to build fun from day one. People putting quarters in the machines is keeps the lights on, but the fact that they're having fun at Crazy Quarters Arcade is why we do this.
When we opened, we were worried about how everyone is growing up in the technology age with laptops, computers, and phones with games that have amazing graphics you can play from anywhere. Would we be able to draw some of those kids in here to come play like we did growing up and have memories like that? We were unsure.
But the answer is ‘Yes, we can!’ because I believe they found what we found: the social aspect. It’s a place you can come to and just hang out with your friends. You can experience a community here.
Sure, they have their phones, but they can have a great time hanging out in a social atmosphere and not be as plugged in. We’ve seen people who may have a little more difficulty socializing with other people come here to play and come out of their shells. You see their smiles and the excitement when they come in, and it's just awesome.
It's a great feeling to watch people laughing, having fun, and making memories playing games from 30 or 40 years ago that we played at roller rinks and pizza places.
Some day down the road, somebody's gonna say, ‘Remember when we played games at that Crazy Quarters Arcade?’
That's why we do it.”
